This smoothie is an absolute classic, and great for raw food novices and children.

The high fruit content gives it sweetness and masks the ample amount of mineral-rich spinach. Mango in combination with banana makes it smooth as velvet, and the orange adds a bit of brilliance to the taste.

Adjusting the amount of water will give you a thinner or thicker consistency. Play around with it. Or you might choose not to add any water at all, which will give you a delicious, creamy pudding – great for dessert or as a variation to your breakfast smoothie.

A simple but very versatile recipe. Enjoy!

EQUIPMENT

DIFFICULTY
easy

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 4 cups spinach
  • 1 cup cucumber, chopped
  • 1 banana
  • 1 mango
  • 1 orange
  • 2 cups water

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Peel the fruits and deseed the orange.
  2. Roughly cut the fruits into bite-size pieces.
  3. Thoroughly wash the spinach and cut it into pieces of about 5cm in length.
  4. Fill your blender fruits first (because they contain more water).
  5. Add the water.
  6. Turn on the blender and blend until everything is well incorporated and creamy.

CHEF’S NOTE

You can adjust the water to your liking.
Add more for a thinner smoothie, less for a thicker. Or you might choose not to add any water at all, which will give you a delicious, creamy pudding.
The choice is yours.
