Packed with superfoods, these little cubes are true energy powerhouses. Spirulina powder, pumpkin protein powder, and hemp seeds provide protein and anti-inflammatory omega-3 fatty acids, while the maca root powder naturally replenishes energy and balances hormones.

YIELD
about 10 small ball or cubes

TIME
preparation: 10 min;
recommended chilling time: 3 – 4 hrs

EQUIPMENT
food processor (optional)

DIFFICULTY
easy

WHAT YOU NEED

  • 1/2 cup raw cacao powder
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin protein powder (or any other protein powder of your choice, preferably plant-based)
  • 2 tablespoons spirulina powder
  • 1 tablespoon maca powder
  • 2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons (raw) honey
  • pinch of salt

HOW TO MAKE

  1. Add all the ingredients to a bowl and mix by hand until a smooth dough forms. (If you prefer, you can also use a food processor to mix.)
  2. Roll into balls by hand, or fill the dough in small (silicon) cube molds for a more sophisticated look – whatever you prefer.
  3. For best results refrigerate the balls (or cubes) for 3-4 hrs to let them set and become firm.

CHEF’S NOTE

As a variation, pumpkin protein can be replaced by any other vegan protein powder such as pea, hemp, sunflower, or sacha inchi. You can also use chlorella powder or a green superfood powder mix instead of spirulina – find your favorite!
